This policy sets out what you may not do with Skolika. It applies to everyone with access to an account — owners, managers, teachers and staff — and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Breaking it can cost an academy its account, so it is written to be read rather than skimmed.
1. The rule behind the rules
Skolika holds the records of real children and real families. Treat every name in it as belonging to a person who did not choose the software and cannot see how it is used. Everything below follows from that.
2. What you must not do
With people’s data
- Enter a person’s details without a lawful basis, or a child’s without their guardian’s consent.
- Load a contact list you bought, scraped or were not given permission to use.
- Give access to student records to someone with no reason to see them.
- Export a student’s data to sell it, or pass it to anyone outside your academy without consent.
With messaging
- Send bulk messages unrelated to the recipient’s classes or account — advertising, political campaigning, fundraising or anything they did not agree to receive.
- Continue messaging someone who has asked you to stop.
- Use the reminder channels to reach numbers that are not your students’ or their families’.
With content
- Upload material you do not own or have no licence to use.
- Publish content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, violent, or unsuitable for the children who may see it.
- Impersonate another person, academy or organisation, or misrepresent a qualification, accreditation or endorsement.
- Use Skolika to run anything that is not teaching — a payment scheme, a lottery, a false-invoice arrangement.
With conduct
- Harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against a student, family, teacher or member of our staff.
- Take a dispute with a student out of the classroom and into their record.
With the Service itself
- Probe, scan or test the security of the platform without our written permission, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract the Service, or automate it beyond normal use.
- Reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense or white-label the platform.
- Upload malware, or use Skolika to distribute it.
- Share one paid seat between several teachers to avoid per-teacher billing.
3. Reporting a problem
If you see any of this happening — on your own academy or another — write to info@skolika.com with enough detail for us to find it. Reports about the safety of a child are looked at the same day.
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, tell us at the same address before telling anyone else. We will not pursue anyone who reports one in good faith and gives us reasonable time to fix it.
4. What happens when this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may ask you to stop, remove the content or messaging concerned, suspend an individual seat, suspend the academy, or close the account. Where the circumstances allow we warn first and give you a chance to put it right; where a child is at risk or the platform itself is under attack, we act immediately.
Closing an account for a breach does not remove your right to export your data, except where the law requires us to preserve or withhold it.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as new problems appear. Material changes are announced before they take effect.
